SS Orford Orient Steam Navigation Company ships wheel badge 1940 bombed off Marseille

A scarce original circa 1928 to 1940 period 'S.S.Orford gilt and enamel pin brooch', the 'Orient Steam Navigation Company' enamelled flag mounted to the centre of a ship's wheel. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
Diameter approx 28mm.
In 1940 SS Orford was bombed in an air raid off Marseille Southern France and beached fourteen people lost their lives. In 1947 she was towed to be broken up at Savona Italy.
