Butlins 1946 Skegness holiday camp jolly fisherman enamel badge

A scarce original 'Butlin's 1946 Skegness' gilt metal badge, this example with scarce enamelled centre depicting a jolly fisherman. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect, gilt finish remains bright, an excellent example.
Diameter 26mm.

Butlin's Skegness Holiday Camp was thriving until the 3rd September 1939 when the Second World War was declared. The site was taken over by the Royal Navy for use as a training establishment, known as HMS Royal Arthur. The holiday camp was reopened to the public on 11 May 1946.
