A good original circa 1965 period 'Post Office Tower London celluloid tin button badge' depicting a red BT Tower with its peak surrounded by clouds. Very good condition, retaining original pin fitting, colours remain bright.
Diameter 24mm.
The Post Office Tower was officially opened by the Prime Minister Harold Wilson on 8 October 1965. It was commissioned by the General Post Office for the purpose of supporting the microwave aerials then used to carry telecommunications traffic from London to the rest of the country.
