WW1 London County Council LCC Home Nursing Badge and Case

A scarce original First World War issue 'LCC home nursing gilt and enamel medal' in the form of a full sized red cross bearing white enamel title circlet 'London County Council' and 'Home Nursing' across the centre, the reverse inscribed to the recipient 'JESSIE AMES 7.4.14.'. Very good condition, complete with original raw edge blue silk ribbon, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright and housed in a period case.
The London County Council was the principal local government body for the County of London from 1889 to 1965 it was replaced by the Greater London Council.
