'Masonic Million Memorial Fund Jewel' Birmingham 1928 Hallmarked Silver Medal.

A scarce original 'Masonic Million Memorial Fund Jewel' the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1928, maker's details "J.R.G&S" (J.R.Gaunt & Son) and inscribed "Bro. O.E.Winter. No.3920". Very good condition, complete with original blue silk ribbon with pin fittings, colour now a little faded.
Height 91mm.

The Jewel designed by Bro.Cyril Saunders Spaceman, R.B.A, R.M.A, is in a form symboliizing Sacrifice, with a perfect square at the four ends, on the left and right squares being the dates 1914-1918, the years in which the supreme sacrifice was made. Between these is a winged figure of Peace presenting the representation of a Temple with special Masonic allusions in Pillars, Porch and Steps. The medal is suspended by the Square and Compasses attached to a riband, the whole thus symbolizing the Craft's gift of a new Temple in memory of those Brethren who gave all for King and Country, Peace with Victory, Liberty with Brotherhood.

Butlins 1945 Filey Holiday Camp Yorkshire, Rising Sun Badge with Churchill's 'V' For Victory Sign.

A scarce original immediate post-war period 'Butlins 1945 Filey holiday camp badge'; gilded brass circular example inlaid with blue and white enamel, depicting a rising sun with "V" placed within 1945, the reverse impressed in relief "Holidays Are Jollidays". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel perfect, gilt finish remains bright.

Filey Holiday Camp was being built for Billy Butlin in 1939. With the outbreak of the Second World War the War Ministry financed the camp's completion, using it as housing for military personnel. Butlin reclaimed the base in 1945.

A rare original circa 1915 - 1918 Great War period 'Almeric Paget Military Massage Corps nurse's uniform badge' convex gilded brass wing bearing cross to the centre, inlaind with red and white enamel, with an applied dark blue circlet with the letters "APMMC". Good condition, retaining original pin fittings and safety chain, enamel loss and stress marks to both wings, not unusual in this very vulnerable designed badge.
