A good original 'King George's Fund for Sailors charity lapel badge'; oxidized silver plated King George V crown resting within a 'Red Ensign Merchant Navy' enamel flag and a Royal Navy White Ensign flag, with Naval Crown over 'K.G.F.S' below; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'H.W.MILLER LTD B'HAM.18'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no stress mark or enamel loss, excellent patina.

The 'King George's Fund for Sailors' KGFS charity was founded by King George V in circa 1917 to look after the needs of Royal Navy and Merchant Navy dependants in the First World War.
