A scarce original mid-20th century period 'Accredited Poultry Breeders Federation of England & Wales Ltd lapel badge'; small nickel plated blue enamel example, the centre depicting a small chick with large red 'A' across the centre; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fittimg, no damage to the enamel.
Diameter approx 20mm.
During and immediately after World War II, membership in an accredited scheme was vital for farmers to secure state-regulated animal feed rations.
