Maginot Line Ligne Maginot On Ne Passe Pas shield badge by Depose
A rare original circa 1940's Second World War period 'On Ne Passe Pas Ligne Maginot pin badge', substantially made silver plate on copper die-stamped example in the form of a shield, dotted surround bearing French maker's details 'DEPOSE' and depicting the Fort with three Machine Guns at the ready with barbed wire fence in the foreground; the reverse with tiny maker's details to pin fixing. Very good condition, complete with original pin fitting, minimal service wear.
Height approx 35mm.
The Maginot Line named after the French Minister of War Andre Maginot fortifications were built from 1928 to 1940 by the French government for the protection of French borders.
