RAF No.36 Squadron Royal Air Force Regiment Badge

A very scarce original post 1942 King George VI period 'RAF No 36 Squadron Royal Air Force Regiment gilt and enamel badge, the center depicting an 'Astral Crown' superimposed on crossed rifles, with Latin motto 'Per Ardua' (Through Adversity) scroll below; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'BMCo' (Birmingham Medal Co.). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
Height approx 32mm.
Founded by Royal Warrant in 1942, the Corps carries out security tasks relating to the protection of assets and personnel dedicated to the delivery of air power.
