National Union of Railwaymen Essex District Council Branch Steward Badge founded 1913

A scarce original early 1930's period 'National Union of Railwaymen Essex District Council badge', large gilt blue enamel title horseshoe surround, bold red enamel 'STEWARD' below, cental white enamel inscribed 'ESSEX DISTRICT COUNCIL'; the reverse impressed with early maker's details 'Fattorini & Sons Bradford House Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.
