WW1 Vulcan Motor Engineering O.H.M.S war service badge Southport

A very rare original First World War period 'Vulcan Motor Engineering On His Majesty's Service identification lapel badge'; well designed white metal example in the form of their 1909 Olympia Poster Trade Mark, depicting a figure of a Smithy standing over his anvil holding a steering wheel in his hand with blue title circlet above and O.H.M.S scroll below. Very good condition, complete with original early style round buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, an excellent example.
Height approx 29mm.
During the First World War 'Vulcan Motor and Engineering Co' who made buses, cars, and lorries, assembled aeroplanes for the Aircraft Manufacturing Company 'Airco'.
