A scarce original 1925 early turn of the 20th century 'National College of Music London medal' the centre bearing an embossed Lyre, inscribed to reverse' CUMULATIVE AWARD TO VIOLET KETTELL. FOR PIANOFORTE PLAYING. CREWE 1919 -1925' bearing Birmingham Silver Hallmarks for 1925 maker's details 'AS&Co'. Very good condition with original pin fitting, complete with lilac silk ribbon, this in fragile state and housed in it original case.

The National College of Music was established as a school of music in 1894 by William J. Moss, the Moss family and several of their friends and patrons and was later incorporated in 1898.
