1897 Gatwick Racecourse Victorian period horse racing club badge No 53

A rare original Victorian period ladies '1897 Gatwick Racecourse horse racing club gilt and enamel pin badge', the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Bowman Limited 68 & 70 Goswell Rd London' and low issue number '53'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. An excellent example.
Gatwick Racecourse opened in 1891 and ran its last race in 1940.
