WW2 Thornycroft Company Ltd shipbuilders 1939 war worker badge

A scarce original Second World War period 'Thornycroft 1939 lapel badge' gilt brass circular example, depicting the companies logo a 'T' within a blue and white enamel flag; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham' and impressed with official issue number 'S2627'. Good condition, complete with original buttonhole horseshoe fitting, no enamel loss, but with multiple surface scatches. Price reflects.
Diameter approx 27mm.
During Second World War Thornycroft built for the Royal Navy the Assault Landing Craft renamed Landing Craft Assault used by British troops at the D-Day landings 6th June 1944.
