A very rare original early Second World War circa 1939 period 'Leyland Motors Limited war worker on war service identification badge'; circular example depicting a gilt brass recessed commercial radiator grill inscribed across the centre with the companies trademark logo and inlaid with Electric blue enamel; the reverse impressed with early maker's details 'FATTORINI & SONS LTD BRADFORD WORKS BIRMINGHAM' an address format used between 1933 and 1939 and impressed with official issue number '10687'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no emamel loss, minor surface scratches.
Diameter approx 26mm.
Leyland Motors Limited, Lancashire were vehicle manufacturer of lorries, buses and trolleybuses, during the Second World War along with most vehicle manufacturers they were involved in war production. Leyland built the Cromwell tank at its works from 1943 as well as trucks such as the Hippo and Retriever.
