RMS Windsor Castle Union-Castle Line silver ships picture badge torpedoed sunk 1943
A scarce original vintage period 'R.M.S. Windsor Castle souvenir ship's picture brooch', the reverse impressed 'MADE IN ENGLAND' 'STERLING SILVER'. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, colours remain bright.
Diameter approx 27mm.
RMS Windsor Castle built by John Brown & Company, Clydebank, Scotland and launched in 1921. Commissioned as a troop transport ship in the Second World War and was sunk in 1943 by a torpedo launched from a German aircraft off Algiers.
