A rare original First World War period 'Clapham Home Defence League badge'; gilt brass Crowned red, white and blue enamel Union Flag within title surround; 'Clapham Branch' to centre on seeded ground; the reverse impressed with early maker's details 'THOMAS FATTORINI BOLTON'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no enamel loss, minimal service wear. Height approx 30mm. 'Mentioned in the Volunteer Training Corps Gazette for 20th March 1915' in 'A GUIDE TO THE VOLUNTEER TRAINING CORPS 1914 -1918 by RAY WESTLAKE.
