WW1 Royal Borough of Arbroath Special Constable Scottish Police Badge

A scarce original First World War period 'Royal Borough of Arbroath Special Constable gilt and enamel badge', blue enamel title circlet, the centre bearing the embossed enamel 'Arbroath Coat of Arms' with motto 'Propter Libertatem' (For Freedom)'; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'VAUGHTONS Ld BIRMm'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.
