Butlins 1937 Skegness Holiday Club jolly fisherman badge
A rare ORIGINAL pre-war 'Skegness Butlin's Holiday Club 1937 undated badge'; gilt brass example in the form of an enamelled jolly fisherman within a voided circlet, resting on a red enamel title scroll 'Butlin's Holiday Club'; the reverse impressed with maker's details in relief 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham' half obscured by pin fixings. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, very minor surface scratches, gilt finish remains bright.
Diameter approx 27mm.
Butlin's Skegness Holiday Camp was thriving until the 3rd September 1939 when the Second World War was declared. The site was taken over by the Royal Navy for use as a training establishment, known as HMS Royal Arthur.
