A good original full sized silver lady warden 'Air Raid Precautions badge', designed by sculptor 'Eric Gill', made at the Royal Mint and authorised in February 1937, the reverse impressed with London silver hallmarks for 1938 (C) and maker's details 'J.C' (Sir John Herbert McCutcheon Craig, Deputy Master and Comptroller of the Royal Mint from 1938). Badge in very good condition, complete with original pin fittings and contained in blue square cardboard box, this with scuffs and damage to corners held together by Sellotape and with a much later red velvet lining.
