Newton Chambers & Co ARP air raid precauctions badge Churchill Tanks

A rare original Second World War period 'Newton Chambers & Co Ltd air raid precauctions home front badge'; small chromium plated white enamel title surround 'ARP' to centre on green enamel ground; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel.
Diameter approx 22mm.
'Newton, Chambers & Co' from the Thorncliffe Works came under the control of the Admiralty in 1939 and a new workshop was constructed nearby at Warren Lane for the manufacturing of Army Vehicles and Churchill Tanks for the war effort.
