WW1 Standard Motor Company War Materials On War Service Badge

A very rare original First World War period 'Standard Motor Company On War Service identification badge'; large gilt brass example bearing the companies red, white and blue enamel patriotic 'Union Jack Flag' logo with an additional title bar across the centre 'WAR MATERIAL'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright, an excellent example.
Diameter approx 32mm.
During the First World War the Standard Motor Company produced more than 1,000 aircraft, also shells and trench mortars for the Royal Engineers.
