A scarce original circa 1928 period ' Romford Victoria Cottage Hospital Services Rendered badge'; embossed title circlet 'ROMFORD HOSPITAL V.C.' with cross to centre and 'SERVICES RENDERED' below; the revrese impressed with Birmingham Silver hallmarks for 1928 and maker's details 'F & S' (Fattorini & Sons). Very good condition, complete with original suspension ring fitting and housed in its original velvet lined leather presentation case bearing 'Fattorini & Sons Ltd' details.

The Victoria Cottage Hospital was opened in Pettits Lane in 1888 on a plot of land donated by Mr W Mashiter. The funds needed to build it were raised by the people of Romford.
