WW1 Highland Light Infantry British War Medal and Silver War Badge

British War Medal awarded to 9466 PTE J SMITH HLI. This is accompanied by an associated
Silver War Badge, now with part obscured issue number due to old repair to the pin.

9466 Private John Smith from Broxburn enlisted into the 10th Bn HLI on the 19th September 1914. He embarked to France on the 16th December 1915. On the 6th May 1918 he was reported wounded and was finally discharged on the 1st April 1919. He is confirmed as being awarded the Silver Wart Badge at the time of discharge, but no record of the issue number of the badge could be found. The BWM and Badge were acquired together.
