A scarce original First World War 'On War Supplies S.M.W Company Limited 1915 identification badge', circular gilt brass example bearing yellow enamel title surround with company name to centre on green enamel ground; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.GAUNT & SON LONDON' and with engraved low issue number '53'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel.
