A scarce original circa pre 1939 period 'Girl Guides Tawny Owl Assistant badge'; gilt brass example inlaid with yellowy orange translucent enamel, depicting a beautifully feathered wise owl, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'A.WYLIE & Co LONDON' 'Regd No 688485' a registered, design and patent date of 1922. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, minor manufacturers infil flaw to chest, gilt finish remains bright.
