S S Empress of Canada ships wheel pin badge

A scarce original circa 1930's period 'S.S. Empress of Canada gilt and blue enamel ships wheel souvenir pin brooch' mounted with the 'Canadian Pacific Steam Ship Company' red and white chequered flag to the centre. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, minor enamel flaw in the 5 o'clock position, gilt finish remains bright.
Diameter approx 27mm.
In 1939 S S Empress of Canada was converted to a troopship, she was torpedoed and sunk by a submarine in 1943.
