Cambridgeshire For Home and Country WI badge

A scarce original circa 1940's period 'National Federation of the Women's Institutes badge', gilt brass oval, the fretted centre bearing the 'WI' monogram, flanked by a red enamel Rose and Canadian maple leaf with motto 'For Home and Country' with additional 'Cambridgeshire' scroll below inlaind with green enamel; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'W.O.Lewis (Badges) Ltd B'Ham'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or loss of enamel, gilt finish finish remains bright.
