BOAC Airline silver and gold bullion aircrew cap badge

A scarce original 1939 -1974 early issue British Overseas Airways Corporation BOAC padded cap badge', finely detailed early pattern embroidered silver bullion griffin on torse, within gold bullion oak wreath surmounted by an astral crown with deep band, all set on black felt backing, the reverse with waxed black hessian lining. Very good used condition.
Height approx 61mm.
British Overseas Airways Corporation was formed in 1939, BOAC and BEA merged in 1974 to form British Airways.
