A good original 'City of London Police Reserve Special Constable lapel badge'; white metal red enamel title surround 'City of London Coat of Arms' bearing the Latin motto 'Domine Dirige Nos' (Lord, direct us); the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt London' and official issue number '9951'. Good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, evidence of having been gilded at some stage.
