A rare original circa 1950 - 1952 period 'Butlin's Grand Bahama Club gilt brass badge', white enamel title circlet bearing superimposed blue and white 'Sailfish' to voided centre; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Fattorini & Sons Ltd Barr St. B'ham. ENG.' (ENGLAND). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or enamel loss, gilt finish remains bright.
Height approx 27mm.
Butlins Grand Bahama Club Billy Butlin took a vacation in the Bahamas in 1946 and saw the future potential of the area. He ended up buying two hotels, the Fort Montagu Beach in Nassau and the Princess in Bermuda and set about renovating them in a British style to appeal to the wealthy American market.
