Kingston upon Hull Special Constable 1914 police reserve badge

A rare original First World War period 'Kingston upon Hull Police 1914 Special Constable badge'; heavy duty gilt brass example with white enamel title surround, convex gilt button style centre with ornate embossed shield bearing three Ducal Coronets from the City Arms and inscribed 'Kingston Upon Hull'; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt London'. Good condition, complete with an unusual screw fitting buttonhole, enamel loss in the 11 o'clock position and minor service wear, gilt finish remains bright.
