A scarce original First World War period 'Volunteer Training Corps badge'; gilt red enamel oval title surround the voided centre bearing Maltese Cross with Saint George and the Dragon within blue enamel circlet 'Polytechnic 1914'; the reverse impressed official issue number '178'. Good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, minor service wear to enamel and gilt finish.
