RMS Empress of Ireland hand-painted enamel picture brooch
A rare original circa 1906 to 1914 period 'R.M.S. Empress of Ireland shipping line pin badge'; ornate gilt surround the central bearing a hand painted representation of the Canadian Pacific steamship. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
Size approx 35 x 23mm.
The R.M.S. Empress of Ireland was built for the 'Canadian Pacific Steamship Company' by 'Fairfield Shipbuilding & Eng Co Govan' and was launched in 1906. She sank after a collision with SS Storstad on 29 May 1914.
