London Aeroplane Club membership badge c1930s

A rare original circa 1930's period 'London Aeroplane Club elite membership pin badge'; gilt brass feather quill bearing black enamel star flanked by black enamel stylized wings, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Skinner & Co 34 Old Bond St London.W.1' and with low official issue number '176'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, minor pin head flaw to the enamel on one wing, gilt finish remains bright.
Length 29mm.
The 'London Aeroplane Club' was opened by Sir Philip Sassoon in 1925. He was Secretary of State for Air, Honorary Commanding Officer of 601 (County of London) Squadron, nicknamed 'The Millionaires' Squadron.
