WW1 Speed Up Munitions male war workers badge

A rare original First World War official war workers 'Speed Up Munitions gilt badge', an impressive example in the form of a large gilt oval title surround surmounted by a winged bullet, inlaid with patriotic red, white and blue enamel, the embossed central scene depicting a male worker handling large shells; the reverse impressed in relief 'DID HIS BIT ON MUNITIONS' 'GREAT WAR 1914 -1918' and with 'Rd.663926' a registered, design and patent date of 1918. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright, an excellent example.
