Florence Nightingale School of Nursing silver hospital badge & case

A very scarce original 'Florence Nightingale School of Nursing silver hospital badge, the reverse embossed 'Nightingale School St Thomas Hospital and inscribed to the recipient 'JOAN M. MARTIN 1952'. Very good condition, minor enamel defect to lower arm, complete with original pin fittings and housed in its original red leather velvet lined fitted presentation case with gold tooling and details to the outer lid 'Badge Of The Florence Nightingale School Of Nursing' the inside with maker's details 'John Pinches London'. Very good condition, leather supple with colour remaining bright and catch in good working order.

The badge was designed by Dame Alicia Lloyd Still in 1925.
