Scottish Women's Hospital France Serbia 1914 -19 Service Award Badge
A scarce original end of the First World War period 'Scottish Womens Hospital badge'; gilt trefoil example bearing blue enamel title surround, joined at the base with the years service '1914-19', the centre embossed with a gilt thistle, flanked by honour scrolls 'FRANCE' and 'SERBIA'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no defects to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Height approx 30mm.
The Scottish Women’s Hospital was affiliated to the Women’s Suffragette movement. The Hospital was formed by Elsie Inglis and in 1916 received funding from the London Suffrage Society.
