T.S.S Athenia mother of pearl badge, 1917 torpedoed and sunk off Inishtrahull Ireland

A rare original First World War period 'Donaldson Line TSS Athenia pin badge'; silver plated enamel crossed company flags resting on blue ribbon title scroll and mounted on mother of pearl disc. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel. Diameter approx 28mm.
These mother of pearl pattern brooch were very
popular in the First World War and normally be mounted with a regimental crest.
