Wrights' Ropes Ltd Birmingham ARP Fire Guard Home Front Badge

A rare original Second World War period 'Wrights' Ropes Ltd air raid precaution officially numbered pin badge'; well designed gilt example inlaid with red, white and blue enamel, depicting flames, 'FIRE GUARD' title and 'A.R.P.'; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham' and low issue number '60'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, an excellent example.
Diameter approx 25mm.
Established by William Wright in 1770.
Wrights' Ropes Ltd was adopted in circa 1927, by 1929 they were manufacturing heavy wire ropes and fine aeroplane cables.
