A scarce original circa 1930's 'Amy Wonderful Amy song badge' in the form of her pioneering aeroplane 'Jason' in gilt and blue enamel, the reverse with maker's details 'Miller 118 Branston St B'Ham' and 'Reg 755555' a Registration, Design and Patent number for the year 1930. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect except for stress lines, visible only with a magnifying glass. Length approx 27mm.
In 1930 Amy Johnson became the first woman to fly solo from Croydon South of London to Darwin Australia, flying her 'Jason' Gipsy Moth aeroplane, these badges were sold as commemorative souvenirs, also given away with the song sheet, of the very popular tune at that time "Amy Wonderful Amy".
