1896 Jesus College Boat Club Cambridge shield & oars silver antique brooch

A rare original Victorian rowing club 'Jesus College Boat Club Cambridge delicate hollow silver brooch' in the form of parallel oars bearing pale blue enamel blade tips, mounted to the centre the club's red, black and yellow enamel shield, depicting three cockerel heads; the reverse impressed with Chester silver hallmarks for 1896, maker's details 'B.H.J' (Barnet Henry Joseph, Frederick Street, Birmingham) and engraved retailer's details 'L. & F. COLE. (5 & 6 Market Street Cambridge) Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, minimal enamel defects, housed in associated velvet lined protective case.
