A rare original Second World War period superb example of a 'Moffats Ltd On National Service home front lapel badge'; gilt black enamel title surround, white enamel centre bearing the Moffat Stove Company logo a Crowned sheild depicting a Elephant, Antelope and Beaver; the reverse impressed with official low issue number '68' and maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright, an excellent example. Height approx 30mm. 'The Thomas L. Moffat Electric & Gas Stoves Company Canada, located in Markdale, Weston Ontario, Winnipeg and Calgary. The Moffat Stove was known to have been shown at the Canadian 1905 exposition.
