WW1 Lincoln County Special Constable police badge
A good original First World War period 'Lincoln County Special Constable gilt lapel badge', blue enamel title circlet, the voided centre bearing large white shield with red cross and fleur-de-lis which represents the 'Virgin Mary' the patron saint of both the Cathedral and the City; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt & Sons London'. Good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, minor nick to the enamel lower outer rim, gilt finish remains bright.
