WW1 The Carabiniers (6th Dragoon Guards) Group of Medals, POW Wounded

Awarded to GS-7600 Private Fred Jackson, who served in France from October 1915 and was wounded and captured during the German spring offensive of March 1918.

Comprising: 1914/15 Star 'GS-7600 PTE F JACKSON 6-D.GDS', British War Medal, Victory Medal 'GS-7600 PTE F JACKSON 6 D-GDS (6 on star double stamped)
Medals loose retaining original silk ribbons.

Private Fred Jackson from Wigan, Manchester was posted to the Regimental Depot of the 6th Dragoon Guards in September 1914. He landed in France on the 17th October 1915. He was reported wounded receiving a gunshot wound to the right leg below the knee and taken Prisoner on the 26th March 1918 during the great German spring offensive. He was released and admitted for a short period into King George Hospital Stanford Street London, before his discharge in July 1919.
