The Royal Society of Saint George patriotic pin badge by Spencer London

A scarce original pre1947 period 'The Royal Society of Saint George membership badge'; gilt brass Crowned title ribbon scroll surmounting St George's shield, all inlaid with patriotic red, white and blue enamel; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Spencer London'. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, pin a replacement, enamel intact, the ribbon scroll lower left with infill flaw. Height 30mm.
The Royal Society of St George was founded in 1894, with Queen Victoria as first Royal Patron, followed by the patronage of every reigning monarch upto Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
