A scarce original First World War period 'Middlesex War Service gilt and enamel badge', depicting the emblem of the joint war organisation the 'British Red Cross Society & Order of St John', the reverse impressed with unusual naming to a Voluntary Aid Detachment '444 J.J. ROBB VAD15.' Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.
