City of London 1939 King & Queen Visit to Guildhall Named Medal
A scarce original 23rd June 1939 Corporation of London silver medal for the 'VISIT OF KING & QUEEN TO GUILDHALL ON THEIR RETURN FROM CANADA & AMERICA'; large well desiged superb quality scalloped edge example, resting in Oak Sprays, the white translucent enamel centre mounted with the 'Coat of arms of the City of London' within blue enamel title circlet; the reverse impressed with London silver hallmarks for 1939 and maker's details 'H.G.H. S.A.P' (Hicklenton & Phillips) (H G Hicklenton & S A Phillips), and inscribed 'L.TAYLOR. DEP.' Very good condition, complete with heavy duty ring fitting, enamel perfect.
