Parachute Regiment silver plated pin badge

A good original circa 1940's 'Parachute Regiment pin lapel badge'; silver plated winged parachute canopy surmounted by a Royal Crest mounted on a 'J.R.Gaunt & Son Ltd' retailers display card. Very good condition, complete with original pin fitting, the flat style hook typical of the period, minor age wear.

Height approx 23mm.

Originally formed as The Parachute Corps 22nd June, 1940 at The Central Landing School, Ringway, Manchester; redesignated The Parachute Regiment, Army Air Corps 1st August, 1942.
