A very scarce original circa 1940's 1950's period 'Royal Air Force Escaping Society brass lapel badge' bearing the Latin motto 'Solvitur Ambulando' (solved by walking).the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Fattorini & Sons Ld Bradford Works Birmingham' an address format used between circa 1945 and 1954. Good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fittings, no damage to the enamel, minor service wear.
Height 27mm.
The Royal Air Forces Escaping Society was formed in 1946, it was based at the Duke of York's Headquarters, London.
